Orchard? April Fools? *updated....

*Okay, maybe my post might have come across as harsh to some. My thought is that if someone wants to run for the Leadership of the party, they should at least be part of the party and have contributed to it.

It's the same thought towards Rae and Kennedy. I think Kennedy is a great MPP and if he wants to be a great MP, he would be a great addition to the Federal Liberal Party, but not leader.

If David Orchard wanted to run for the Liberals next time around, I'd welcome that, just not for leader.

if he was so interested...why didn't he run for the Liberals during the election...put your money where your mouth is...

Two-time Tory leadership candidate David Orchard is considering running for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party.

The Saskatchewan farmer says he wasn't considering it until people started calling him.

Orchard ran twice for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative party

Orchard took out a Liberal membership before the last election.

Orchard almost ran for the Liberals. They asked a few candidates to step aside and let him run, but they balked.

Not that I want the guy to run or anything, but if people are going to welcome Brison, Stronach, and Rae with open arms, there's nothing to say that Orchard shouldn't be too.

I wouldn't say open arms...

Brison and Stronach ran for the Liberals last time around...fought the good fight...

unlike Rae or Kennedy who took a side step away from the crumbling pedestal

Sarah, how did Kennedy take a side step? He's been honing his political teeth as Minister of Education, one of the biggest portfolios in Upper Canada? Its understandable that he'll face a lot of questions as to his experience/lack of HoC experience, but his life experience can match almost anyones. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking and listening as the candidates prepare to announce because they all bring ideas and some fresh energy to the race, but to just sluff off Kennedy just because he didn't have a seat -- it's not like he was tanning on the beach the last few years or lining his pockets in some boardroom... Personally, I like his 'lifetime liberal' credentials a little more than the recent conversions of Stronach and Brison... How many degrees of separation are they from Emerson again?
