4 ridings and 4 lost pens

We have been to a few ridings now and I have manged to leave a pen in each one. Like most women, I carry a big purse to which I can carry a lot of items....4 pens yes but 5 pens, that's asking too much.

We had a great event in Cobourg with a lot of people, young and the young at heart. Former MP Paul Macklin was out as well. There were great discussions about earning back the trust of small town Canada.

The more I hear Scott speak, the more policies views I find we have in common. I also love Scott's real sense of humour.

Too funny! Today in Cobourg:
Scott Brison on Harper: "he's a shrub. He's a shrub because a shrub is a little Bush, and that's exactly what Harper wants to be."

We then went off to the riding of Durham. Sadly we didn't run into Bev Oda (could I win the YLC iPod if I captured a photo?!?).

We had a wonderful event in Bowmanville where the discussion on ideas and policies was free flowing. We then travelled to Whitby where we were joined by Liberals from Oshawa and Whitby-Oshawa including the wonderful former MP Judi Longfield.

It's been a long day. I have successfully prevented Richard from playing Paul Anka covers....to those that were in the van to PEI, you understand.

...Until tomorrow...

Sarah, in my 38 years, none of the women I have ever hung out with carried a purse, let alone a big purse. Are you hanging out with my mother? because she carried a purse. Wow get some real women as friends. What the hell do you need a purse for? Please don't generalize about women like that again. because you are wrong.

So sarah, how come you are deleting comments from declared Brison supporters? Since you are working on his campaign this is probably a bad idea.

sb....lighten up. Most of the time I carry a purse...doesn't make me any more or less of a woman.

And you should research people before attacking them...Sarah has a history advancing women in the party.

Should we talk about your history sb?

SB - are you kidding or just bitter and crazy? If Sarah wants to use a purse I don't see how that affects you.

I don't care what Sarah's herstory is, her comment about women and purses was dumb, offensive and inacurate. I called her on it. Too bad.

One of Brison's declared blogger supporters e-mailed me to ask why this silly woman was deleting his commments questioning some of the campaign and why the campaign wasn't responding to e-mails. So, I gave him a different contact and asked Sarah why she deleted his comment.

This blog is dumb, really dumb and useless if it won't allow Brison supporters to comment. Sorry.

So before everyone says I'm so mean to criticize Sarah think for a second what the objective of this blog is.

Is it to show a women's view and support of Brisons campaign. And to generate interest in his campaign. Yep. So what does Sarah do generalize and insult women while delting comments from people who are already intrerested in Brison's campaign. This does not meet those objectives and hence the blog is dumb and useless.

btw This blogger is ready to pull his support from Brison for the campaign's lack of response. Maybe the contact I put him in touch with will, be more receptive than Sarah. Then again, I can probably get him to support Dryden.

SB

No one was deleted intentionally.

Lighten up about the purse. There are alot of gay men who enjoy caring purses who like to think that it enhances their feminie side. Your rant is offensive to gay men who want to be like women and express themselves by carrying purses!

Jeez SB. Get a hold of yourself!
What's the problem? Why do you bring your mom into this? And you should hang out with your mother... why would you tear on your mother like that?
What's your definition of "real women"? Why would the carrying of a purse seperate the real women from the non-real women?
I have a purse. I like it. It's practical. what's up? Please don't judge the purse carriers. It's too much hate SB... too much hate.

As a Woman myself, AND a Massive Purse Lover (both Literally in size and Figuratively in nature), AND a Scott Brison fan, I love that Sarah refers to her massive purse! I'm not offended by her comments, in fact I think it speaks to the unique assets women can bring to political campaigns. Details are so important, and are often what seperates a good campaign from a great one! Never underestimate the beauty of being uber-prepared on the campaign trail. My purse has removed lint from a candidates suit, fixed broken glasses and buttons, fed half the campaign team and kept all of our policy stuff together. AS well as collected precious information on supporters and their concerns and issues. It doesn't take just a woman to carry a well prepared bag, just a smart campaign staffer. And besides, I've seen Sarah's bag. It's lovely!
