From the Toronto Star:
The NCRI website says the April rally that Kenney attended was organized by "the Committee in Defence of Human Rights in Iran."
From: Ottawa citizen, July 29, 2006
Opponents of the Iranian regime in Canada say they too have received similar reports from Iranians on the ground, describing huge posters depicting the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country's hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Hezbollah leader Sheik Nasrallah with the slogan: "This war is our war."
"I had some reports where people said that they do not care what the government of Iran wants to do. They are concerned about the possibility of more bloodshed in the Middle East and (concerned) that the government uses all Iran's money to help fight against Israel by its own Hezbollah," said Shahram Golestaneh, president of Committee for Defence of Human Rights in Iran.
Funny the ''Committee for Defence of Human Rights in Iran'' was not sited as a terrorist organization on July 29, but 3 weeks later it is.

Shahram Golestaneh, president of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights in Iran, is urging the Canadian government to take immediate action to secure Mr. Jahanbegloo's release.
"My Iranian host, Ramin Jahanbegloo, works in a tiny shared office at the bureau, invited foreign guests and building up a small circle of free-minded students whom he lectures on European thought," wrote Mr. Ignatieff.

"No matter who of these eight candidates win, the result is still the suppression (and) the human rights violations that have been going on for the past 25 years," said organizer Shahram Golestaneh of the Ottawa-based Committee for Defense of Human Rights in Iran.
"We are asking for the basic freedoms, the basic right to vote, the basic right to choose our own clothing, the basic need for equality between women and men."
Are you guys sure that this group was banned as a terrorist organization?

(14:05 into the file, it is only up today)
Kenney AND Day!!!
wilson61 -YES WE ARE SURE! That is why we are upset about the double standard.
Here is the US State Departments designation of the group as 'terrorist':

So what is the double standard? Well Kenney attacked the 2 oppositon MP's who merely SUGGESTing that Israel talk with Hezbollah - but it is okay for him to ACTUALLY TALK with a right wing terrorist group.
It is time to acknowledge that he screwed up - and we are awaiting his resignation!
